Frequently asked questions
-
Yes. The Director's Viewfinder uses your iPhone's camera to show a live preview cropped to the selected camera/lens field of view. Camera access is only used while the Viewfinder screen is open — the app never records video or saves photos without your explicit action. To grant access, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > CinePrecise and toggle it on.
-
The Sun Tracker calculates the sun's exact position, golden hour window, sunrise/sunset times, and solar trajectory for a specific geographic coordinate. Location is processed entirely on-device using standard astronomical algorithms — it is never stored or sent to any server.
To grant access: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > CinePrecise — set to "While Using the App". You can also enter coordinates manually in the Sun Tracker screen if you prefer not to grant location access.
-
Yes, fully. All tools — Viewfinder, Sun Tracker, DoF Calculator, Exposure Calculator, Camera Database, and Time & Motion — work completely offline. No internet connection is required after the initial download. This makes the app reliable on location in remote areas with no signal.

All purchases are processed by Apple and refunds are governed by Apple's refund policy. We cannot issue refunds directly. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the CinePrecise purchase, and select "Request a Refund".

CinePrecise does not require an account — there is no server-side data to delete. All your data (gear library, preferences) is stored locally on your device. To remove it completely, delete the app: press and hold the CinePrecise icon > Remove App > Delete App. This permanently removes all local data.
-
On your iPhone home screen, press and hold the CinePrecise icon until the icons begin to jiggle, then tap the minus (-) button, or long-press and select Remove App > Delete App. This removes the app and all locally stored data.
